Berthoud Frontbag Luxe

Berthoud makes this elegant frontbag of fine heavy cotton and top grade leathers. The outside pockets have leather strap-and-buckle closure.

The Frontbag Luxe comes in three heights. The bag rests on a front rack and it is intended that the top of the bag is slightly lower than the top of the handlebars. There are leather straps to attach the bag to the handlebars for stability but a decaleur is a popular accessory for a solid mount These bags are not meant to use the handlebars as a sole support..

This is a very traditional French touring bag. M. Berthoud bought the patterns and production rights from the old Sologne firm and continues in the style of that classic French bag-maker. He has continued the traditional bags and developed new innovations in bike luggage, all in the traditional style.

The 'Luxe' version of these bags are dimensionally the same as the 'Basic'  bags.  They differ in these ways:

• Luxe pockets close with leather strap and buckle, Basic pockets close with elastic loop over a hook.
• Inside the Luxe lid is a window pocket for a card and a  zipped compartment for papers
• The Luxe bag has a large leather patch on the bottom. Its a leather strap on the Basic bag.
• The Luxe bag has a leather patch to slip over the rack backstop. The basic bag has a strap with a buckle.
