Berthoud Decaleur du Sac

The Berthoud decaleur can be useful in stabilizing a frontbag, which rests on a rack.

This decaleur comes in two mounting styles and two lengths.

The decaleur mounts to a stem with a bolt that replaces the stem binder bolt.

The "horizontal" version mounts on a stem on which the binder bolt passes completey through the stem head. The Cinelli 1A stem is a classic example of this style.

The "vertical" decaleur mounts on a stem which has a blind hole for the binder bolt. The Cinelli XA stem would use a vertical decaleur.

The decaleur is attached to the bag with a long rod that slips through three tubes. Two of these tubes are bolted to the frontbag.

Decaleurs come in 91mm and 121mm lengths. The length decaleur that is best is determined by how your bag fits on your rack.
