Gilles once bought a sophisticated truing stand but his mechanics prefer this home-made model and the fancy one rests under the bench.

Gilles has always been a supporter of the 650B wheel size. Bikes built around the slightly smaller wheel can be more compact and suitable for the smaller rider and he has always had this option on most of his designs. Recently, though, he abandoned 650B in favor of 26". He saw the wheel and tire options for 650B shrinking and had concerns that people who purchased 650B bikes today could find themselves unable to get replacement wheels and tires sometime in the future.
