Jan Heine appreciates functional quality in bicycles. His magazine, Bicycle Quarterly, is famous for the objective and rigorous evaluations of cycling equipment. Mr. Heine is a randonneur - A cyclist who rides long distances in organized events. Bicycle Quarterly has a special fondness for randonneuring, the equipment, and the history. Orther sorts of bikes come under the Bicycle Quarterly microscope as well and the equipment reviews are thorough. There is also much regarding modern cycling history that we can learn from.
