Three saddle covers at wallbike.comThe Velox cover (top) is a tight-fitting stretch fabric that is completely waterproof. It is shown on a B.17 and a Team Pro. The Velox cover is a good choice for the narrower saddles. It is a tight fit on a B.17. and won't work at all on B.67s or women's saddles

The Brooks cover (center) and the new Jandd cover (bottom) are very similar. Both are made of a nylon fabric with a drawstring around the bottom. Both covers have an attached hook-and-loop strap for bundling. The Brooks cover is lighter and rolls smaller. The Jandd cover is made from a heavier fabric and is more waterproof than the Brooks. The Brooks cover comes in sizes M and L. The M works on most saddles, the L works on the larger Brooks models. The Jandd cover is equivalent to the Brooks M and won't cover anything larger than a B.17.

The main reason to have a cover for your saddle is to protect it when you are not riding the saddle. When you are on the saddle your body keeps the saddle from getting soaked from the top. The saddle is still vulnerable to road spray from underneath. Fenders will solve this problem but the Brooks and the Jandd versions cover the back half of their saddles pretty well. |
