|
| The new CARRADICE Saddlebag Uplift is finally here. This steel carrying unit mounts easily and positively to the plastic bracket that is fixed to the seatpost. The saddlebag seatpost strap now attaches to the triangular part of the uplift. There is a webbing strap for carrying the bag off the bike. | |

This is the plastic bracket that stays on your seatpost. It is very secure and should fit most bikes. |

"I got an Uplift SQR from Wallingford about a month ago and I like it
a lot, as follows:
1. I can remove my Carradice bag (either my Camper or Nelson) from the bike
instantly. I really like being able to pull the bag off and bring it with when
going into a store or upon arriving at work with lots of stuff I need to take
up to the office.
2. I got mine with an extra seatpost clamp, so I have 2 bikes with the clamp
device on the seatpost and I can move the bags from bike to bike in a second
or two - literally.
3. It also allowed me to mount a Carradice on my wife's xo-1 which has neither
a Brooks saddle nor quite enough clearance to the rear tire when hanging it
from the seatrail adaptors.
4. It holds the saddlebag a bit more upright so everything doesn't fall out
when you open the top flap. I used to carry everything in a musette or canvas
grocery bag inside the Carradice, but now I can throw my gear in and either
open it to remove items or lift off the whole bag. Much simpler."
"I haven't really noticed any balance or handling differences, although
the bag is mounted a bit higher and further to the rear than when it was hanging
off my B17. The back of my legs don't brush against the front of the bag any
more when I pedal, although that didn't bother me after the first 5 minutes
anyway. I probably should load the bag heavily then try riding the bike with
it mounted on the SQR once and again when directly mounted to the saddle; realistically
I won't do this unless I experience some handling problems - then I might test
the 2 to see if the SQR is causing the problem or if I just have too big a load."
"Thanks so much for the Carradice QR uplift kit. My bike loves it!"
