| THE TUBUS CARGO RACK |
The CARGO
rack is made in Germany by Tubus. Constructed
of steel tubing, it weighs 580g and its capacity is 90 lb.
The versatile stay struts
enable easy mounting to any 700c bike with
threaded mounts on the inside of the seatstays.
Triangulation of the struts ensures excellent
rigidity.
Construction on this product is beautiful
and the powdercoated finish should prove
durable. The full-width reflector mount
is a welcome change from the usual clip-on
afterthought.

"The eight-day trip I wanted the duo rack for has been completed and the rack has been superb.
It mounted easily and is astonishingly stiff and stable once bolted up.
I dug up my Ortlieb 10mm mounting inserts in the end and they fit the bars of the rack perfectly - it is a mild interference fit, a snap-fit in other words.
The only consideration with fitting is that my mid-fork mounts are threadless tubes which require a through-bolt, where Tubus seems to have assumed the mounts will be threaded on each side and did not supply through-bolts. No problem though as I had bolts from mounting a different rack there in the past.
The bar that carries the pannier extends back past the fork blade, meaning the bags can be beautifully balanced around the steering axis and have a negligible effect on the bike's steering in touring use.
All in all, I am a very satisfied customer. Thanks again."
