Gilles Berthoud come in racing and touring versions, and the frame rails can be stainless steel or titanium. The saddles are named after climbs in the French Alps.
At 325g the ti-railed Galiber is the lightest all-leather saddle on the market. The natural color is un-dyed leather. The cork is a special effect of M. Berthoud's invention. No two saddles will be exactly alike in these colors. The saddles are made from thick, natural vegetable tanned leather. It is pre-softened and waterproof. The frame rails are stainless steel while the nose piece and crescent are of polycarbonate. This material allows for more a more sophisticated shape and has some flex to it for comfort without compromising the durability of the saddle. Bag loops and mounts for a KlickFix bag attachment fitting are incorporated into this crescent. Thanks to the special screws and washers the saddle may be completely and easily disassembled with hand tools. Each saddle has its own serial number incorporated into the washer on the top nose screw.
